Why Rebeca exists
Built from a problem I had myself.
Hi, I’m Albeiro. Spanish is my first language, and I learned English and French largely on my own. Phonetics became one of the most useful tools I found for improving my pronunciation, but also one of the hardest to learn from existing apps and resources.
After more than 8 years working in EdTech, and driven by my interest in phonetics and AI, I started building Rebeca around a simple loop: listen, record yourself, see what happened at the word and sound level, and try again.
I’m now starting to learn German too, which lets me experience that process again from the beginning. Rebeca is still evolving; she is named after my family’s parrot, who lends her name and personality to the coach.
